My head hurts! There had better be a chuffin prize after all this!

I’ve got it!!!!! It’s obvious!

It’s for taking the rough edges off a 90’s pop singer…….it’s a…..wait for it….wait fror it….

Chris De-Burr……..broooooom tish!

Is it for cutting metal rods? Or thin metal pipe - like brake pipes?

Pompeyexile I think you should go and indulge in some coffee= you are obviously stressssssed

Consult the coffee flow chart on funnies thread, read and inwardly ingest👍😁

Elcarajillo This has been going on for a long time and you are driving every one nuts! 😂

I haven’t read the rest except your first post. Sorry, if this is already asked.

Is the surface area indicated by the arrow flat? It doesn’t look flat to me. If it is isn’t, is it a bench drill press?

Is that cheaper than the osteopath ? It looks quite effective😁

Shal I relent and tell you what it is for ??

forgot the image related to my earlier post

LMSC Sorry I missed this post, that component is slightly concave. No it is not a bench drill press🤫

Is it for cutting the heads off rodents that inadvertantly wander into one’s workshop?

Pompeyexile I wish it was, I would use it on the squirels that have ripped most of the tyvec (roofing felt)

          out of our pergola little B - - -

I think this has run its course 🤫 .The great reveal🎤.

It is for refacing the valve seating face on engine valves .Underside of valve facing the cutter being moved forward by the fine thread, whilst the valve is rotated by a handle clamped on the valve stem.

I am sure it would not work on the modern very hard valves.

Would you like another one ?? as Pompey-x says. I will get my coat😉

Must admit, after almost 50 years in the motor trade I’ve never seen one of those before. I used a lathe, or even just a pillar drill with a file and whet stone!

Elcarajillo Would you like another one ??

            I’m up for another.

I think this has run it’s course now. The great reveal🎤🤫

It is for recutting the valve face seal for engine valves.

The valve is held in the jaws and moved forward with the fine screw thread against the cutter. It is then rotated by the handle clamped to the valve stem until a smooth shiny seat is formed. It sounds quite ‘agricultural’ but I can assure you it works. Think. BMC, Ford and earlier vehicles.

I am sure it would not work on moder very hard engine valves.

Would you like another one ?? NO. as Pompey– says. I will get my coat.😁

Flat_Eric It is the only one I have seen, there are a couple of similar items on the I/net but not the same.
