I bought my Zero in August 2020. and have always been delighted with it. 6 months or so ago, it developed a leak coming from the right side towards the rear. The leak was random. It was definitely not filling the water tank too much and slopping the water over the sides, or anything like that. I had never looked into the maintenance side of things and did not have sterilising cartridges and the like. I had never descaled it. So, I contacted Osmio who were excellent. They sent me instructions to decsale it which I did, but that did not solve it. I then received instructions on how to disassemble the bottom part of the machine and soak the components in citric acid solution. I did that and the leak continued. When I say leak I mean once every few days a puddle would appear on the bench. So, I sent the unit back to Osmio for a service. They have had it sat on the bench now for a week and have found it leak free! I simply wondered if any other users had experienced anything like this? Can I make clear, the reason for posting this is not to suggest that there is anything wrong with Osmio, their service levels or the machine. I think I can remember another member with a leak……simple as that!

If you said leak appears front right side of the machine I would say it’s definitely drip tray as mine does every few days if I don’t empty it. Water literally climbs up and leaks from the joint between top and bottom part of the tray. I siliconed it once and it stopped it but when I open and clean it I was lazy to reseal so I learned to empty the tray every other day :) this happens to another mate of mine’s osmio tray so it’s definitely a design fault.

Mine does this, too, from the drip tray. Water climbs up the gap between the drip tray wall and its cover. I need to empty the tray daily to stop it from happening.

I had an email this afternoon. Once again the engineer has pulled everything apart and can find nothing wrong and certainly no leaks! Unfortunately, the water the Osmio supplies me with is a very important part of the maintenance on my Evo. So, I can either have it sent back where it will either leak or not, or ask Osmio to scrap it and I will buy a new one. I bought it in August 2020 for a forum offer of £321….the units have risen like all things to £445 but come with both empty cartridges for sanitising and their very handy sanitising spray…..need to mull it over the weekend. I suppose a third choice would be to take it back and sell it. I put up with the leak for nearly a year so it might be a bargain for someone!

dfk41 I was tempted to buy a new one last summer when the pump on mine failed. Not sure what I’d do without it!

Osmio replaced the pump and it’s working like new again. It wasn’t cheap (though much much cheaper than a new machine). It’s not too difficult a job to replace the pump yourself, but Osmio had no “for sale” stock, only maintenance stock, which was annoying but I didn’t have the energy to argue the point.

Inspector yes very weird, but I was relieved it wasn’t coming from inside the machine! I did a bit of googling at the time and landed on the capillarity explanation. Not thought too much about it since.

Elcarajillo but it happens even with 20ml of water or less so nowhere near the joint, water literally climbs up to joint then leaks out :)

I was getting this.
I decided it was the rubber seal around the inlet valve, I wonder if these can be found separately?

But, what I have found seems to work for me is.

Put the tank in. give it a firm push down to get the suction sound.

Then, give it small taps with my hand around the edge, you may see some small air bubble float to the surface (I do), this seems to have stopped any leaking for now.

CYP1A2 I’ve had my Osmio for over 4 years and I’ve taken it a part a few times, including to descale those rubber seals. It’s worth doing every once in a while as scale does accumulate in them and the quarterly run through of descaler from the fill tank won’t get into all the nooks and crannies.

AndyP I sent mine back initially to be fully serviced costing £136 including carriage both ways. Since they have not had to replace any parts then they are knocking a good chunk (about £84) off that amount. It is fair to assume that if they cannot get it to leak, then it should not leak on my bench either, so I think I will just take it back as is and if the leak occurs again, act accordingly!
