chlorox
Hey Mate.
It is getting a bit confusing in here.
This is what I was referring to.

“I imagine that in order to achieve that sort of control a new lever grouphead would need to be designed that can immediately control by demand the exact volume of water that is allowed to enter the grouphead on every pull. If it can also be possible to easily change the spring pressure on demand as well, the possibilities would be mouthwatering…”

I am enjoying all aspects of this discussion.
I might be an outlier but, I let the drip tray do it’s job.
I let stuff spurt into it and once a week I clean it.
That’s its job.

It is amazing that you could buy a nurri, a vesuvius evo and a vostok single group ans probably have money left over for a nice grinder with the money that is necessary to buy a LEVA X! It is an amazing technical achievement of a machine but it also appears to be incredibly complex with many components that can break down over time. Design wise that stirrup handle isn’t the best design choice either in my opinion anyway. And lastly it is also vast in proportions and probably makes dcen an izzo pompei look small….

Yeah I agree - i was merely offering a possible technical solution to the water wastage issue that Tom raised.

i dont think it matters - it all ends up in the drip tray regardless

id like to see what the display screen does as thats different too.

chlorox Yep - in fact, if you buy a 3 group machine (heck, last I counted, Nurri, Evo and Vostok 1 makes 3), there is enough money for 3 really good grinders. On the other hand - at least in terms of size - it’s clearly meant for a commercial application. Whether it has the robustness/reliability that I would want for commercial use… different question altogether, but LM should know a thing or two about engineering coffee machines. If I won the lottery, would I buy it? Probably not. Plenty of other stuff would come first.

Cuprajake i dont think it matters - it all ends up in the drip tray regardless

Correct, in its current shape and form. But what @chlorox was saying is that if the machine measured the exact amount of water required for an espresso… technically it would not waste water. However, there will be other issues, like filling the piston with air instead, so that would have to be overcome too, etc, etc, etc.

        @chlorox - I’m enjoying the read and discussions :-) 👍

@dfk41 - The whole point here is that in the Nurri the paddle is there for those who think it’s useful and want to use it. You don’t have to.

        Cuprajake

Sorry, what display screen are you referring to? The nurri doesn’t have any displays other than the pid which I believe is a conscious design choice.

the one top left, that has the timer on, i presumed you could press stuff on that

The single display on the nurri is the pid at the top left corner at the front. It also becomes the shot timer when the lever is dropped or the right paddle engaged. At other times it cycles between the temp readings for brew boiler, steam boiler andgrouphead.

and thats where you adjust settings?

simonko I would have liked the venting on my Izzo Valexia - as the cup clearance with a double spout is too low to put anything underneath without a juggling act, especially not with scales and if you’re retarding the lever manually.

Here the cup clearance looks much better - so feel I wouldn’t value it as much - however let’s face it, we will upgrade int the future and it’s an attractive feature when reselling!

Same with the preinfusion - I’m happy with mains preinfusion and would prefer no pump, tank and the complex Gicar in the Nurri - and would jump at a Nurri without those- but they give men semis when re-selling.

You nailed it. Group height clearance was one of the reasons for purchasing the machine. Also, the machine was done with this characteristic on purpose since the concept.

Try to put a tupperware under that.

BTW, you can purchase the L-Type without pump. :)

Viernes can you upload vids without all the music id love to hear the actual workings of the machine, cheers

Markus from espressoTV has a video with Nurri operating the machine without music.

                Shot starts at 4:40

Also a video from Nurri’s channel

                Hope it helps.

Yeah ive seen those, but there all non users - real world stuff.

                its ok though thanks

Really? My dealer was going to talk to Antonio about such a machine but I didn’t hold much hope. Did you see any details of it online or hear of it straight from Antonio?

Or are you going to tell me it’s just a normal Nurri without the pump installed, with disconnected pipes,😃

                That is impressive cup clearance.

simonko From Antonio. It’s the same machine but without the pump, so you must plumb the machine.

I think he still sells it. But better ask him.
