Yes I’ve bought from Unorthodox a good few times, never had a bad bag from them. I personally wouldn’t hesitate to buy from them any time.
Bean guide - all roasters in one place
LMSC I just ordered 4 bags from them so will come back in a couple weeks with my thoughts!
LMSC All beans are roasted light
I just looked at their website and the coffee looks good.
When you say the above statement, where did you see that information? I couldn’t find it.

MediumRoastSteam I am afraid I no longer remember. It’s been a while! 😊 Sorry!
I can see from the description that the below are light roasts
Safari
Wee Stoater
Kaleidoscope
Jacquesburg do you have some thoughts to share? I just had a browse and just by the way they talk about their coffees I’m all in. Seems to be some real passion and knowledge there. And i love a roaster that leans hard into funkier coffees. (When i worked at Rave for a bit, it was a running joke that im a sucker for a good high altitude natty)
I’ve put in an order for a bag of natural Brazilian peaberry ‘Ultimate Stoater’. Will report back with spro and filter findings
Colonna right now and Django both filter .
tobyjrn6 Findings: Really phenomenal coffee, espresso and filter. I think I probably pulled my favourite shot ever yesterday. I wouldnt usually gravitate towards Brazil but something about some of the slightly higher altitude, slightly denser naturals from there really does it for me. It’s like you get all of the juicy fruit of an ethiopia plus some rounded chocolate on top. Really incredible stuff.
The spro is boozey and syrupy, the filter cleans right up and you can pick some of the more delicate fruity floral notes
that time of the month again,
any discount codes or deals on medium roasts for choc/nut etc
need a kilo for the mrs

I started roasting 15 or more years ago because commercial roasters at the time were really terrible - Hasbean’s barely roasted style was all the rage and all the “Artisan” roasters were joining the bandwagon, most of them didn’t seem to have the faintest clue. It seems that fashion has moved on and generally people have more knowledge and are roasting more sensibly now (not sure about Hasbean).
I brought some of this today -
The Sunset Espresso Coffee (stewartscoffees.co.uk)
Loving it, and grudgingly I will admit that they seem to know what they are up to. Its good enough to make me think seriously about giving up home roasting.

Just a quick heads up as not often as far as I have seen you can get Cafe Granja La Esperanza greens in the UK (unless you have a business account). Pennine Tea & Coffee have some Anaerobic greens from CGLE - ended up buying 5 kilos and the flavour notes do sound interesting. Nice you can buy as low as 1 kilo if you wish.
i replied to the wrong thread lol,
ive stuck an order in for a kilo to try as it did tickle my fancie..

I’m coming to the end of my coffee compass beans, enjoyed Brighton lanes and cherry cherry but fancy a change. I had planned to get a couple from Foundry but they have sold out of the recent recommendations. I mostly drink flat whites with the occasional espresso. Any recommendations? (Happy to go lighter than above blends, as found them too dark the more I drank them)
