LMSC hi,

Evo still going strong. Since it came back it’s been reassuringly predictable. For what it’s worth I have a niche zero which I have used for about 4 years. It’s a great all-rounder. Not the best for static or pour-over, but in no way bad. My df83v im finding is different/better if only because of the reduced static. and happy with it as a cheap pre-order bargain (I used tempomans code so got extra off the preorder price). Id equally love a duo, but see no need to fiddle for the foreseeable. If the Evo dies I’d get another one, but hopefully it has many years left in it yet. The osmosis water makes me fairly confident that it should just carry on with typical parts replacements as expected each year like any machine…

Noticed an email from BB with more details on a blog post. Variable rpm quoted at 300-1400 and not 800-2000 as on the model Dave have been testing. Interesting.

Worth noting also if you are considering purchase (if you are tight like I am) you can effectively get free shipping if you go on their chat or email and request for an order to be created . there’s a 2% saving if you pay by bank transfer. Quick, easy and cost effective.

Just waiting for the boat to land now😁

      About Me

DavecUK they’ve had the Bianca dimensions wrong before so possible, although is very similar now to the KOPI Deva which is 200-1200.

DavecUK I always run it at 800

Why 800? Because it was the slowest it could do, so you would run at 500 or maybe 300 if possible as now suggested or do you think 800 gives best particle distribution?

Interested as playing with rpm on my KOPI Deva.

        I like 800 for 64mm burrs.

DavecUK thanks. Good to know. I’m still playing and once got my new kg dialled in at the 600 I’m at at the moment I’ll try 800, 400 etc and see what impact it has, and if I can notice as also on 64mm flats.

            DavecUK I like 800 for 64mm burrs.

I know you like 800rpm for 64mm burrs. But why? What’s the rationale behind it?

Surely if it goes to 300rpm that increases the likelihood of stalling quite significantly?

simonc if you have it can you run some lighter beans at espresso settings with the lowest RPM and report back? Thanks

From a business perspective it seems BB is not getting the attraction they needed/wanted, which is not too surprising. Sub-500GBP SD grinder market is super competitive atm and most will stick with DF64 gen 2. Hopefully that will not kill off the grinder, hopefully to buy it from a local retailer soon…

What brings you to that conclusion, how many have been sold?….

                  About Me

Adrianmsmith just the impression. No discussion about it outside this forum. Pretty low view count on Dave’s video. For many people it will just be another DF64 “clone”, which is not true but hard to convince otherwise.

Sometimes good produce <> good selling

If the grinder is as good as I have at home and should be a lot better with the improved spec and burrs (I think the speeds they quote must be wrong)…then a lot of people are going to miss out on something excellent. I know the influencers have high view counts and sometimes the paid shills just make me want to walk away from it all. The reason being “why bother”.

They truly don’t give a crap about the people who watch their channels and buy the product they push. They are too busy making the next money making video, endorsement or whatever else they do..
