About Me

DavecUK they’ve had the Bianca dimensions wrong before so possible, although is very similar now to the KOPI Deva which is 200-1200.

DavecUK I always run it at 800

Why 800? Because it was the slowest it could do, so you would run at 500 or maybe 300 if possible as now suggested or do you think 800 gives best particle distribution?

Interested as playing with rpm on my KOPI Deva.

    I like 800 for 64mm burrs.

DavecUK thanks. Good to know. I’m still playing and once got my new kg dialled in at the 600 I’m at at the moment I’ll try 800, 400 etc and see what impact it has, and if I can notice as also on 64mm flats.

        DavecUK I like 800 for 64mm burrs.

I know you like 800rpm for 64mm burrs. But why? What’s the rationale behind it?

Surely if it goes to 300rpm that increases the likelihood of stalling quite significantly?

simonc if you have it can you run some lighter beans at espresso settings with the lowest RPM and report back? Thanks

From a business perspective it seems BB is not getting the attraction they needed/wanted, which is not too surprising. Sub-500GBP SD grinder market is super competitive atm and most will stick with DF64 gen 2. Hopefully that will not kill off the grinder, hopefully to buy it from a local retailer soon…

What brings you to that conclusion, how many have been sold?….

              About Me

Adrianmsmith just the impression. No discussion about it outside this forum. Pretty low view count on Dave’s video. For many people it will just be another DF64 “clone”, which is not true but hard to convince otherwise.

Sometimes good produce <> good selling

If the grinder is as good as I have at home and should be a lot better with the improved spec and burrs (I think the speeds they quote must be wrong)…then a lot of people are going to miss out on something excellent. I know the influencers have high view counts and sometimes the paid shills just make me want to walk away from it all. The reason being “why bother”.

They truly don’t give a crap about the people who watch their channels and buy the product they push. They are too busy making the next money making video, endorsement or whatever else they do..

Oh just to clear things up the 300 to 1400 speed came from something the BB person doing the blog read for another variable speed grinder…NOT the T64. Which as far as I am aware will be the same as the test sample I have 800-2000.

BB only have the single speed unit, until the one I have is returned to them.

BB haven’t done a particularly good job with the presentation of this new product for sale. They are using images of a different model - without any kind of disclaimer or explanation. They refer to Dave’s video, again without explaining that the video shows a different model of the grinder and now they are potentially misrepresenting the grind speed range.

They really need to do better. As far as I know, nobody has seen this movable zeroing ring yet - it could be that it is clunky and ugly enough to dissuade potential buyers. Even if not, they should be doing better at explaining that the images on their website do not accurately present the grinder buyers will receive.

I’m sure they could have got images or renders from the manufacturer to use for publicity. If they couldn’t, they should have delayed the listing until they could take their own photo’s, double check the specification and then accurately list the item for sale. Using wrong images and wrong description is all a bit amateur hour.

EDIT - also not sure on the legality of claiming that the £459 price is a “sale” price from their standard price of £559 when it has never previously been offered for sale at £559. Pretty sure that retailers are expected to be able to evidence any claim that a “sale” price is indeed discounted from their previously advertised retail prices.

I show it in the first post in the thread.

They can’t show the grinder in photos because the adjustable collar ones are not in the county yet. The grinder they do show is the non variable speed one they have which is identical in every respect to what I have here, without the variable speed (and variable speed knob).

But keep complaining, because that’s the best way to ensure they don’t bother with something like this again. The only people that will lose out are those looking for a very decent 64mm grinder at a great price.

DavecUK I show it in the first post in the thread.

But importantly - BB don’t. If you could - they could.

I believe they have used manufacturer provided images in the listing? I cover this above. Suggesting that a retailer shows images of the item they are selling is hardly contentious.

This is ridiculous. It’s not unreasonable to expect a retailer to accurately represent products that they are selling. Your defence of BB here is absurd.

Regarding the claim of the “sale” price, BB should not be claiming this. They can however explain that this is an introductory price. If I can find this out in 5 mins sure BB could too! From the Advertising Standards Agency website

Use the correct terms for introductory offers
If a marketer has not sold a product before and wishes to offer it at an introductory price which is lower than the intended standard price, they should make clear it is an introductory offer rather than discount. Using scored-out future pricing is likely to be considered misleading unless the ad makes it explicitly clear that the price is the intended future price, because this will imply that the crossed-out price is the established usual selling price

I’m not defending anything, or anyone…quite frankly I don’t give a crap any more.

Buy it, don’t buy it….who cares. This is why I sometimes think….why bother!
