I bought a load of beans from Coffeelink recently which included Tanzania Blue Mountain (on sale) and they’re fantastic if you like old fashioned coffee with a sweet finish, I love them, I’ve just ordered another 1kg bag for £20 delivered if you use the code NEWBREW @ 15% discount.
I’ve not tried the other coffee beans yet but the previous order was very good too but those TBM beans are a standout for me and my wife loves them too.
Apparently they’re the base coffee for Tia Maria or so the blurb says.

I am grinding at 12 on the Duo David, hope you enjoy them, the coffee reminds me of 1980s coffee smells and coffee shops from then, it does taste a bit of Tia Maria I think but my wife thinks I’m losing it 😀
I’ve started on the coffee link Christmas espresso blend, really nice cinnamon Christmassy thing going on, don’t think I could drink it all year round though but it’s nice at this time of the year, an acquired taste if you will.
The beans are an Ethiopian Guiji Blend with cinnamon.
A superbly packed box arrived arrived today, full set of Rhino Ware cups & saucers compliments DFK.
These to replace the ones I have broken as they are no longer available.

New Lelit Bianca to replace a Sage Dual Boiler that had given up a fair few months ago. I bought from Ritual Barista Store during Black Friday and got an excellent deal. I’ve had great customer service already (shout out to Federico) and am excited for many years of experimentation and good coffee ahead!

I was pretty impressed with the range of colours available, but I was aiming for a white build to match the kitchen. Better in real life actually! The paint/power smooths out the edges, softens the sound a little and it wasnt that much more expensive. The Mara X in white was a huggge jump
So far so good only thing I can find ATM is im not sure you can adjust the tension there for pressure.
Other than that it’s near identical

Picked up a Thermapen Pro on eBay very cheap. Have had a Thermapen for many years and it has served me well. I use the Thermapen mainly for brewed coffee using a stove gooseneck kettle.
Pro has some nice touches - goes into sleep mode if left but wakes up quickly when picked up. It uses AAA battery rather than two button ones as in the original. Both Thermapens are calibrated.
Actually arrived two days ago but have found using the right temperature has made quite a difference to the quality of the foam, art still rubbish but I think I stand a chance of improving now. The UPS from Germany is pretty steep though unless you buy a few bits, looking forward to the group head temperature thingy on Christmad Day.
Yep I’ve had my Thermapen a few years now and found it invaluable. Whilst even back then it was expensive it is very accurate and like many things, you get what you pay for.
You can pick up a Thermapen bargain on eBay. My Pro version set me back £33.00
Django subs arrived early
I had a cheaper thermometer for a bit and it was painful as it took about 30 seconds to get an accurate temperature. I think I paid less than £40 in a sale for my Thermapen.
The postman didn’t bring these, Santa did. I’ve never seen chocolate covered beans before. Yes, real coffee beans, very crunchy.
They’re addictive. Don’t eat too many at once or you’ll get a caffeine spike
