I have a wooden handled bottomless pf (generic) that I bought for my Elizabeth then a barista pro IMS basket in it. Will this IMS basket fit the supplied bottomless pf that comes with the Vesuvius?

So, my Vesuvius arrived today. I didn’t want to start another thread and this looked like the most appropriate place to discuss my first day! It left Italy last Friday and arrived in my house today - 6 days, yipee! Mine was definitely used, the plastic was gone from it, there was dirt here and there, spilled water underneath the water tank and for some reason the pipes going onto the tank had a black residue of some sort on parts of them. The panel on top of the machine, where the cup test sits is pretty badly finished with dirty plastic covering it but doesn’t bother me. I didn’t pay for a brand new machine I guess!! Assembling was easy as the provided guide is comprehensive (remember the first thing you do is unscrew the four screws on the top of the side panels, no hammer or anything required) The Teflon furniture gliders I pre purchased are perfect for moving it around on the counter top. A bag of felt pads come with the machine. I put 1L through the group 200ml at a time with at least 15 seconds in between. I then emptied the service boiler twice as per manual. I noticed the shower screen had coffee on it so I soaked that in puly caff and gave a good wash. At this stage I only had time to pull 4 shots as I had to leave! I was close to dialled in by the fourth albeit a bit long but I took it with me in the car- I have to say it was very very nice. So I look forward to playing with it tomorrow. I thought I had a dodgy touch screen as it didn’t seem to respond some times but apparently there are different delay times for different choices on it.. phew..! Looks a stunning machine on the counter and I love the almost totally silent pump. I thought the water reservoir wasn’t the best design but I think I’ll get used to it and won’t have to be refilling it so often when I’m not flushing the system through and just using it to make coffee! It really is a different operation to the Elizabeth but I don’t think it will take long to get used to it. So, I can’t wait to drink coffee from it tomorrow

Adrianmsmith pressure was visible shortly on video, and it was on 13bar and going down, during my backflush profile.

Same happened and I brew coffee with 9-10 bar.

At 13 bar that would be expected (normal), the vent valve on E61 machines starts to let by at about 12-13 bar.

What is Vesuvius maximum power consumption during start up (warm up)?
I have connected my Vesuvius to an remote power switch (Eve Energy), during scheduled warm up in the morning many times power switch turns off power. Max power allowed on Eve is 2500W, i checked this morning on EVE-app that consumption during first minutes of warm up is very close to 2500W, it must be that EVE power switch turns off as programmed (I guess).

Spid3r00 Yup, I’ve monitored mine at around the same. I became interested when it blew the 10 amp fuse in the mains plug of the power cable I was using. It needs a 13 amp fuse and a cable, IEC plug and socket accordingly rated.

For now I did install power cord directly (I think is more safe this way) with no inlet and for now with no fuse (but I am thinking to install a fuse holder). However Eve has 11A fuse internally.

You can easily half the current draw if you wish by setting boilers to heat consecutively rather than concurrently - it’s hidden in the menu somewhere.

I think I see one serious safety issue. Not entirely clear but it appears that the ground wire from the mains lead is trimmed shorter than the live and neutral. It also looks like it isn’t secured with a Wago and is just stuffed up the spade connector.

If that’s the case, if the lead gets pulled a little bit, the ground could come loose, but live and neutral stay connected. There is the potential for the machine to be operating with no safety ground.

When hard wiring best practice is to leave the ground wire the longest - so if the cable gets tugged it is the last to be dislodged.

It really isn’t - it’s bodged. It’s a real safety risk for anyone that comes into contact with your machine.

The risk is aggravated by your bypassing of the fuse in the power inlet and by the unavoidable proximity of water to the power fixture which means there is a likelihood, no matter how small you think that likelihood is, of that power inlet getting wet.

I already explained that as you have left it, if that power cable - also bodged through the base of the machine with no proper anchor - just a zip tie, gets pulled - the first cable to fail will be the earth cable so there is the potential for the steel case of the machine to become live.

It would take two minutes to make safe, don’t let a bruised ego stop you from doing that.

Gagaryn I really don’t trying to argue what is safe and what is not… I mean ground wire i secure hard and it doesn’t move freely, now is compared to installation ACS did originally from factory. Now I have fuse in power inlet (11A from Eve Energy) and installation in my apartment have also fuse of course. I will dough install the fuse in my machine next week.
